About GoodSharks

GoodSharks Mission Statement

Our mission is to humanize lawyers and uplift the profession in the eyes of the consumer public, while helping good lawyers market efficiently.

We will use the best tools available in social media technology and our lawyer-client matching application to promote easy and open communications between lawyers and potential clients and ultimately foster better attorney-client relationships.

We will adhere to the highest ethical standards applicable to lawyers in the United States and will evolve to address the needs of our attorney members.

By doing all these things, GoodSharks will create market efficiency in order to enrich GoodSharks’ users and lawyers, as well as the company itself.

Alicia Dearn

Ag Alicia Dearn is the CEO and founder of GoodSharks. She is also a California employment and business lawyer and the managing lawyer at Dearn Law Group. Prior to founding her firm and GoodSharks, Ms. Dearn practiced employment and civil litigation at Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker and Pillbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman.

When Ms. Dearn first started GoodSharks, she told everyone her goal was "to make lawyers trustworthy again" in the public eye. Since then, she's broadened her mission to include helping good lawyers differentiate themselves from the masses, while create practices that are satisfying, balanced, successful and service-oriented.

Ms. Dearn has a message for all lawyers on GoodSharks, whether they be former big firm associates, recent graduates, established lawyers turning to the internet for the first time, or seasoned rainmakers: "The challenging economy offers us an opportunity to revisit how we do business and change it for the better. We have to adapt in order to compete. I hope you will join me and GoodSharks in revolutionizing how we approach the business of our practices."

Ms. Dearn hopes someday soon to be a GoodShark on the high seas when she and her husband fulfill their dream of sailing around the world aboard their yacht Polar Bear.

Rob is also a Commercial Yachtmaster, but has put his sailing career on hold for the time being.

He confesses: "I'd rather be sailing," but realizes "it's much harder to play golf or go skiing when at sea."
